About Our Bed Frame Sizes
All bed frames on PlatformBedsOnline.com are made to fit standard mattress sizes (size chart below). The dimensions listed in the dimensions tab are the exterior of the bed frame, not the mattress size. ALL King size bed frames are a Standard (or Eastern) King, unless specified. Standard King and Eastern King are used synonymously throughout the industry, and throughout our website. Cal (California) King beds are different from Standard (Eastern) King mattresses. California King mattresses are 4 inches longer and 4 inches narrower than Standard King mattresses. Also, unless otherwise specified, all bed frames are sold without the mattress, and DO NOT require a box spring.

I want to mention that my order was fulfilled incorrectly at first, and there was some damage by the shipper, but the replacement process was quick and easy, with excellent and prompt service, and absolutely no cost or inconvenience to me. So, if you're afraid to buy furniture online in case of a snag, that is just not an issue with Platform Beds Online. As for the product, the wood is beautifully finished, I got the caramel latte color and it just looks like spun honey, like you could just eat it! Everything is totally smooth and rounded, and there was zero stinky residual smell from staining, as you sometimes get with new furniture. One thing that really impressed me is how pretty the bottom piece of the drawers are. They are finished to perfection on BOTH sides, with rounded edges. I kept looking back and forth to see if either side had flaws so I could assemble with that side underneath, but couldn't find any flaws--and I got FOUR drawers. Some of the hardware placement on the drawers looks poorly planned, and some screws on the inside of the drawers look wonky, but it does not affect stability, durability or performance. It's just an aesthetic thing, but you don't really see it anyway. The bed is very easy to put together. Like I said, I got the storage drawers, they fit perfectly and look lovely. (I might need to add some foam squares on the back of the drawer front panels, at places where the drawers touch the bed, though, to prevent marring.) With all 4 drawers, and the flat panel footboard, it keeps our cats from hiding under the bed--which is exactly what I wanted! One note: we chose to put 15/32 plywood over the slats on our bed, for extra stability. I even put foam tape around the edges of the plywood, so it wouldn't mar the finish on the inside of the side rails if the plywood slid out of place. Our bed is very solid, with no wobble or wiggle at all. There are pre-drilled nail holes in the slats on the inside of the side rails, in case you want to nail them in place. We didn't feel that was necessary with the plywood, though, so our slats are not nailed to the side rails.
